Ep. 175: The Boyd House Hauntings

And I just turned around and I call ass out of there. I was done. I wasn't dealing with them. The hypocrisy of the cult is one of the things that turned me away the quickest. When I turned my head lights on, it turned and looked at us. And one of the things I remember the most, where the eyes were going red. I see an orb of light. It is just circling these steps. Like it is waiting for me. And he begins to tell them that he saw UFO. They're basically like, what are you talking about. That's seven foot up on a tree, peeking around it, and that's where I saw. The top of the muzzle, nose and the eyes. As soon as I made eye contact with this thing, it don't like death. Welcome back to Tenfoil Tales. I'm your host, Brandon Wright. To night's episode. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show, I think this time, and welcome my guest tonight. Jill, thanks for coming on here and talking to me. Oh good to have me. Brandon, thanks for having me out. Maybe not a problem. Would you like to let the audience know a little bit about yourself? Yeah, for sure. So my name is Jill Shelley and I've been a paranormal investigator since twenty ten. Always kind of fascinated with strange, weird and the macabre kind of stuff at a young age, so I kind of carried over to my adult years and that's just kind of where I met a great group of people in that twenty ten and we founded a group called Saint Croix Paranormal and we started just doing local homes and businesses, investigating that way, and then we kind of reached out, went to what we call the pay to play pay places and just kind of by doing that, getting some answers, doing some investigations. I thought, oh, man, that would be really cool to have my own haunted location where other people can come I can go investigate all the time. So in twenty eighteen I was able to fulfill that dream and I purchased a haunted location in a small teeny we need town of Boyd, Minnesota. And then in twenty twenty three, I got to do that dream again and I bought a Massana clutch. Do you do your own like let people come and do their own investigation in your buildings, know. Yeah, yeah, So that's primary, the primary use of it, of course, with you know, the people coming in for investigations, that actually helps with the restoration of the buildings. So the Boyde House when we got it needed quite a bit of work and we put in you know, we put a new roof in. We've just recently had to repair the back steps. We put that in. We just redid everything too, back to the Victorian times. We put like the old Victorian wallpaper, we have all like the antique furniture, you know, just just period time sake. There was a lot of other up things that we had to fix when we got it too, and you know, old buildings, so we're still working on fixing it as well. And then the lodge needs lots of lots of work because she was built in eighteen sixty one. What are some of the more interesting things you've had happened on the properties that you own. Well, gosh, I tell you, there's so many stories now. So the Boyd House for myself, I've actually had the very first night I stayed there, actually, I was walking kind of through the uh there's like a little hall that goes past the basement door, and as I walked by the basement door, I heard this loud bam bam bam, like three really loud knocks on the door, like there was definitely like somebody was hitting it with a fist. You know. Of course I it startled me. I junked really high, freaked out Rand for a sec. Came back when to investigate, like, you know, could have been caused by any other reason, there would be no wind force where that location of the door is, and so the only explanation was something actually pounding on that door. Interesting enough, before I purchased the home, I spoke with a medium psychic that I really trusted, and she said, the first night you stay there, you're gonna you're gonna meet him, and he's going to let you know he's there. And that's exactly what happened that particular night. Because it didn't happen till way later, because I was like, oh my gosh, there's like nothing happening here, and then all of a sudden, that did. So that was pretty creepy. And my husband, who was not a ghost person whatsoever, he was carrying some stuff in the front door, and as he came in, he looked up at the top of the stairs and he said, there was a girl woman standing there. He said, maybe like you know, eighteen to nineteen years old. He said, for split second he thought it was me because she had the similar hair color and length of mine. But she was wearing white. So he just and all of a sudden and then he looked away. He looked back, she wasn't there. So I was a little jealous because after all these years of investigating, I've seen shadow figures, but never a full blown apparition. And here's a non ghost guy and he gets to see her. How it goes usual? Yeah, So yeah, So we've had that a lot of other people have experienced a lot of different shadow figures. People have seen a man and we've had that confirmed many many times that we believe that is the original owner or not the original He was owner, I will say in nineteen twelve. So the house was built in nineteen oh one. But the main history we have is the Eckhart family who moved in nineteen twelve and then they stayed there till nineteen sixty eight, when the final owner passed away in the home. So a lot of history with them. They both passed away in the home, funerals in the home. Two other children's passed away in the home. We've had another lady in the seventies, she passed away. Nothing tragic. Everything's been, you know, just the elderly heart attack, strokes, what you have you except for one of the children besides being infancy, so that was probably the syndrome. And then but they did have a two year old choke to death and the so and I'm not sure he's still there. But we do have quite a few few deaths. But we do have some children that do stay there, seem a little bit older. So I don't think they're the eck Art family, and I don't really know where they came from. I think they just like it there. So yeah, just a lot of different history there. And then the lodge, like I said, we just gotten that and we don't really you know, we just opened it up May of twenty twenty four this year for people to come in to experience it. So I myself have only investigated it a handful of times, and every time we've gotten stuff, you know, whether it be equipment interaction. We use the spirit box and the Estus method quite often get a lot of interaction with that. But I think one of the neatest experiences that we had there the first time my entire team came with me. We were there and it was cold, so we had like one room that we shut everything in, had a little propain going, and Teresa was in the kitchen. She was making something to eat, and all of a sudden, you just heard this loud, damn Like my first instinct was, oh my god, she just dropped the cooler on the floor. That was my thought. It was so loud. She comes busting through the door and she's like, oh my god, something just drops something or slam something behind me. So you know, of course, we go out there. The lodge is vacant, like we really don't have anything at the lodge at that point. We weren't even open to the public, so we like had a few chairs to sit on, that's about it. There was nothing around that that had fallen nothing that we could see, so we just tried to recreate it. We thought, well, the cupboard door, that's about the only thing. So it sounded just like it. And then we all went back into the room and had somebody slam it and that was the exact same sound that we heard. So we were pretty convinced that that was what happened, is that one of the cupboard doors had to open and close. And then later during a SA session and one of the spirits actually happened to mention there was another spirit named Harold that did it and he thought it was funny. So so yeah, they're very well alive at the lodge, that's for sure. I think there's been some places that I've went to that are supposedly haunted or whatever, but I've never had anything that ever stood out to me as paranormal, which is weird because a lot of these people like I've been with, they thought this was parents for me, I just didn't. I didn't feel it like for me, like it didn't have I don't know how to describe it basically, like you know when someone describes like you walk into a room and you just feel a heaviness to it, right right, it doesn't feel that way to me. And I don't know if it's just because I'm not open enough to it or what it is. But I was literally just out on one recently, an undisclosed location that I'm not allowed to talk about, but I just like, we went into this one room and everyone said, oh, I can just build the energy or whatever. I was like, don't feel anything. I don't know if it like is that if it's just me or I don't know. Yeah you might, yeah, you might not be sensitive to it, you know. We you know that you get that too with you know, different groups, you know, so the like I said, the Bohite House, we've been open since twenty eighteen, and we've had so many people in since we've opened, you know, I would say at least maybe two three hundred different groups of people that have come in, and each group has a different experience or sometimes they don't have any experiences. So I think it just depends on the energy you bring, the energy level of the spirits that day, of course, you know, and if they don't like you, they don't have to talk to you. You know, where they're not you know, circus people, so they don't perform for anyone. So if they're not digging your vibe, they're not going to talk to you. If they don't have the energy, they can't talk to you either. So there's I think there's just a lot of factors. So not necessarily you know, you know, it could just be you for the day, or just you're not open to it. There's I will say there's been homes that I've actually investigated and on numerous times where half the families having stuff going on and the other half are like, you're nuts, nothing's happening. So you know it, you just may not get that feel. We have our own weird stuff that goes on in our house, and I see that interact with that. But like some of these other places I've been to, I just I don't know, maybe they just don't have any interest in me. I've went to one of the locations supposedly one of the honest ones around here, and I've never had any sort of experiences. But I hear so many people talk about it, but for me, it's just like, you know, nothing's ever happened to me that ever stood out. I mean, I'm not saying it's not there, I just I personally haven't experienced to time. I can't really attach to it. Yeah, it just could be you know you in general, like my husband when he he's like I said, he is not an investigator whatsoever. He's not a not believer either, but he doesn't get those feels. And a lot of times when he's with me, we don't get very much interaction. Even when he goes. If he comes with me to the boyd House, it's pretty quiet night. If I go there the boy House with one of my teammates, it's off the charts. So I and he in his mind, he says it's because he feels the need to protect me. And so he says, I think I kind of give off that vibe of like, don't mess with us. So I think that might be why when we go places and he's filled in for me, when teammates bail on me and we've gone to places and I get nothing, I swear I get nothing when he's with me, But you know I get other stuff with my teammates. And I think a lot of it has to do with energy, the energy that you bring, the energy that you have as you're as a person within yourself. I think there's just a whole lot of factors involved with that, which you know and hopefully someday you'll have something really weird and crazy happen. Yeah, I think I go in with the mentality of not expecting anything to happen, because I feel like if you go in there wanting things to happen your typicality, they're going to make it happen by for like, imagining it's happened. So if you go in there with no expectations that then something happens, I feel like it's more legitimate. But that's just maybe my mentality of going in there without thinking anything's going to happen makes it not happen to I. Don't know, you know, it could be a little bit of both of that too, you know, so it's hard to say why why you're not getting you know certain things too, and and you know it's it's not going to be like the movies, you know, where you think like, oh my god, I'm missing apparition, things are going to come fly eye off the wall like, because that rarely, any of that rarely happens. I would say most of the stuff I personally feel like, and especially when I watch other people's paranormal videos. Most of the the stuff that people are showing is equipment interaction, you know. There, you know, there's not too many apparitions caught on film. There's a lot of people that will capture their personal experience, like oh they feel the goose bumps, or you know, maybe they hear footstop, or of course you get the audio ups and such. But again, I did sell equipment as well, so I think getting that like confirmation of seeing something, you know, is pretty rare. Yeah, And you know, so I think, you know, because I was like telling my teammates, it's like sometimes I get a little bored investigating because it's you know, I've experienced a lot of different things, you know, but I've never actually seen one, and so I kind of feel like, well, we I feel like we're just doing the same thing over and over again, and we're relying too much of our on our equipment. So the next few investigations, as we go forward, we're going to use less and less equipment and then to kind of rely a little bit more on our senses and see kind of because we feel like, you know, as we evolved as a team, you know, we used to have like just a few little piece of equipment because we just started and we didn't have a lot of money. And then as we've gotten older and our jobs have gotten better, we own a lot of stuff, but we feel like we get less stuff because we're more focused on our equipment. So we're going to try and take a step back to the old school days again. And you said you started in twenty ten. Was there something that propelled you to want to do this or just the curiosity of it all? Well, you know, I think I think, like most people, you're afraid to die, you know, and you want to know what's out there, like I couldn't handle well, Like I don't know if anybody here you have been under anesthesia, but I've I've been under several times. And the way you just kind of go from daylight to instant blackness and you don't dream, you don't nothing, and there's like you don't exist, like you're gone. And I didn't like that feeling. I didn't like it at all. And I'm like, gosh, if death is like this, I don't I don't want I want to die. You know, I know you're gonna, but I don't want. I don't want any part of this. So I just kind of had to prove to myself that there was, indeed was another side, you know, and so I wouldn't be as afraid to die. So it took me a long time in my head and and all the things that experience to realize there definitely is something going on over there. So I spent a lot of time too trying to figure out what Like, I'll ask more questions about like what's it like over on the other side, And they're pretty secretive about things, but I have learned a few things, you know. They have mentioned that you do, we do meet new people over there on the other side. Your loved ones do come to get you when you die. There are animals over there, and there's awful. There's also like different realms, so it's not like just like people think heaven and hell, you know, depending on your religion. But I was Catholic, so that's why it's raised is. But there's like different planes as well that I think there's different spirits now that why we have different planes and where they are and why they're there. I don't know any of that, and I don't think anybody does. It's all speculations. It's all with paranormal research. Everything is a speculation. There's nothing written in stone. That doesn't mean that this is the way it is. We don't know. We're just guessing and computing our evidence on a lot of things. But yeah, there's just a whole spectrum. It just blows your mind if you just start thinking of everything, like you know, realms and why spirits can go, why can't they stay? You know, why are some staying and just you know, we have again our theories of why they stay, why they can come and go, But are we correct. I don't know. I just know that they do shut down a lot when I start to talk about what's going on we're there. It's weird for me in the sense of the afterlife because I've mentioned this as a time or two and you always hear like you go towards the light, and then other interpretations of it for people are while you're just your brain's firing off memories and this is like the memory of being born. And I've heard people talk about, well, when you die, you come back as it's like reincarnation types, and so you're being born again. That's why you go to the light and you come back to the same body. You're doing the same thing. So I was like, what happens if you don't go to the light? So is there an option? Like can you walk and investigate what's around there? But then they're like, well I saw people become ghost because they don't follow the light. I was like, well, no one really knows, but that's just kind of where my brain wanders sometimes. Is like, but if you don't go to the light. So yeah, I think I think at that point, you're just kind of a wandering ghost in one of those realms or something. I actually a really good uh tip that day medium that I know, you know, I'm not I don't. I don't mind every single medium, but there's there's a couple that I trust and uh she sometimes crossed his spirits over and she said, well, you can tell him sometimes. So she says, sometimes they just get lost and they they missed the light, so you have to tell them to turn around and go back because they don't understand that, and then they go back to the light. So we've said that some a couple of times at some places we've been, and you could just feel the energy of the room lift at that point, which is kind of weird. So I don't know if we really passed anything on at that point, but it is kind of an interesting theory. Mm hmm, yeah, I don't. I don't know all of the secrets of life, obviously in death, what anybody really does, but it's just one of those things that makes you wonder. I guess, well, I you know, I used to kind of question that. But just one really odd ball experience, well, I guess there would there be two. One wasn't experience, more of a story from my aunt. But before my mom passed away, I said, can you just let me know if there's another side? I just gotta know. It's just I'm dying to know. So she said, if she didn't get stuck in purgatory, she said, she said, I'll somehow let you know. Because she was really sick at the time, so we knew she was going to pass soon, and so I didn't really technically get a sign. But I never told this story to my daughter. So she told me about three days after my mom had passed. She said, oh my gosh, Mom, I had this amazing dream with Grandma, so real, she looks so good, and she told me to tell you yes whatever that means, and then she moved on to tell me what you know, my mom had said to her. But I thought, oh my god, she just told me there is another side. So that that to me was a sign because obviously my daughter didn't known even just stating that, you know, Grandma just said to tell you yes, So that that was pretty cool. And then my aunt when my uncle died, he appeared to her in the living room, and it was about three days after he passed as well. He was just sitting there. She just kind of smiled at him, and he said, there's a heaven and it's beautiful, and then she never saw him again. So I thought, wow, you know, so it just do just those confirmations, it just made me feel better. Yeah, I don't know of anything that I've ever had that way, so. I can't really relate to it. Yeah, you know, so sometimes when I get like, is there really another side? Like maybe there's not. Like when I start doubting, I kind of think of those two stories and then I and then again I start thinking about, you know, the spirits that I've been contact with and just throughout the years. You know, I mean, you sure you could say the equipment's being you know, Uh, put off by you know, whatever you know outside stimulus, but when you catch one of those EVPs that is a direct relationship to what is going on with you. It's just crazy. Like we've been to places where it's just me and Teresa, so we shouldn't get any men's voices, but we'll get men's voices. It's just it's just crazy. We and and to know that they see you. We had like this crazy EVP. We were at the Randolph County Infirmary. We were walking down a hall. We never heard anything, we never felt anything. Her and I are just conversing and kind of talking about where we're going to go, what's going on, and we get a woman's voice that says, well, hello girls, please to meet you, come on in. We never heard that, but it was there playing a day. We're the only two people in this entire building, so it was really weird. And then weird thought. We were walking in the basement. Now this building has been on fire two times, it has burned out. We were walking through the basement and I get a man's voice, very frantically, it says the building's on fire, don't you know. So then I kind of made me think, like gosh, is this guy re living this fire every single day? Does he look? Do I look like I'm walking through flames right now? Like so it just kind of blows your mind when you start thinking about things like that. You know, Yeah, I've heard of stuff where I don't know, I forget what the terms called, but like they they say later on like a repeat, like they're constantly going through the same thing over and over and over. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, it's just kind of like an impression. Yeah, imprint and imprint in time is what we call it. Really, so it's just the same thing playing so that we feel like is more like an energy level, just an energy imprint left. So that wouldn't necessarily be like it's haunted. It's just an energy imprint. I've never experienced something where it's like, oh, every day at twelve o'clock, do you hear the footsteps down the stairs. I've never had anything like that. But yeah, that's just uh, that's that would just be a not considered ghostly, just imprint in time because everything's made out of energy, and so you're just leaving your energy footprint. There without turning something into like my own personal stuff. But recently we had an episode that came out that I'd actually talked with my wife about a lot of the weird things that come on here as our Halloween episode, and right after we've recorded it, I was somewhere else speaking and a couple of different ladies that came up periodically throughout the day to talk about what I had mentioned, and ironically, both of them mentioned something about one of the things in the house is a spirit of a little girl, but not to be afraid of her, because she's actually not here. She's not haunting the house, she travels through the water. And then someone else said something similar that the girl is not actually here, it's the surrounding lands that she comes in on. So I'm like, well, I kind of I'm hesitant to buy into the random people that come up and tell you information aspect of things, but I don't want to write that off. So it's like, you don't you don't really know how to take it. But then one of them actually told me to be a I won't dive into, but like there's certain things I need to be worried about, and I'm like, well, now you're just like spreading out omens to me. So it's like no, you're gonna make me worry about it because you're planning those seeds in my head. So, right, how does it go from a little girl to being worried about things? Right? Because apparently one said the ones a little girl, and the other one said there was three entities in our house. One's a little girl, it's fine, the other one is kind of doesn't really matter. Then there's one dark energy in there. I was like, well, okay, our house is not very old and there's never been anyone it's ever passed away. It doesn't mean the lands himself or not got some weird bad juju to them. But right, I'm just saying as far as that I know with the house, it's like, I don't see how it could be haunted, but who knows well. And then too, like if you've been around of some of the investigations and things like that, you could potentially pick up an attachment or a hitchhiker or something, because they they they can follow you home if they really really want to. You know, we try to. I don't really know if it really makes a difference, but I always say, like a like a little you have to stay here, prayer, you know, and kind of bless and do the cross sign of the cross and stuff when I leave, and I you know, I mean, does it really work? I don't know. Is it just because it makes me feel better? Sure it does. But I feel like the few times that we've gone to an investigation and two of my teammates did not do that, I feel like something foul them all because they had like we went to this one place and a lot, you know, always like an old hospital, you know, mental facility, nursing home. It's a lot of different spirits. Once Alex lived in his apartment at that time for a couple of years, the same apartment never had any paranormal activity. Once he got home, he started getting weird, like his dog started acting weird, like he was just barking at the air. Fawcetts would start turning on in his home for no reason. It's never happened before. So then he kind of like, I think some might followed me home. So he kind of staved the place and did a prayer and everything kind of stopped at that point, and there was Donna had she actually saw an apparition. She's more open, she's she's seen lots of spirits. Lots of apparitions. But she said shortly after we got home from oddly enough, another type of nursing, not nursing home but more of an asylum and poor farm. She didn't say stay here either, but she said she kind of woke up and there was like a cowboy sitting at the end of their bed and said, how ma'am, And she's like, okay, well you need to go back where you came from. So yeah, so yeah, I try to just say a prayer. I'm sure it's a lot of in your faith, you know, like what you believe in religiously or even if it's not religiously, if you feel like you saying this is going to work, I think it gives you the energy that it does. I think it's all about whether you believe it, Like you have that strong enough belief behind it, you put that power into it, whether it's real or not real. As long as you're believing. I think that's the intent for the purpose for us. So it does what it's. Supposed to do, right, mind over manner, as they always say, so oh yeah, and you know, and then we also say too, like a lot of things have energy too, you know, like railroad tracks, limestone, you know, things like that give off energy. Weirdly enough, a lot of haunted places are right by railroad tracks and such. The Boyd House is right the railroad tracks actually run right behind our property. And then there's a railroad checks that are very very close, like a half not even a half a block away from the lodge. Also located right off the river, two blocks off the river for the lodge, so there's a lot of energy from the river as well. So yeah, just a lot of different things. You know, the earth has energy too when they give that off as well. So well, there are some of the For all the investigations you've been on everything, what are some of the biggest things that hop out to you that you'd like to discuss? Well, borring my own places, I think the creepiest thing we've had happened was at Whisper's estate in Mitchell, Indiana. By far, the house is creepy. So the story on that, if people don't know, there was a pretty unethical doctor that lived there, So we did some things with this female patients. His daughter started a fire accidentally at Christmas, even was severely burned. He mercy killed her with the overdose of morphine. Several days later a little they say that he buried body parts in the backyard. Boy had fallen down the stairs and died. And then there's another spirit that we really encountered. He's pretty negative. His name is Virgil. He was a caretaker of the property, very very crabby, crabby guy. The closet upstairs is where he kept his gardening tools and such. And when I say closet, i'm talking it's like big, walking like there's a little table in there and two chairs and you can kind of sit back a little bit, so we could be in that closet. People who go in that closet get scratched. Sometimes you get locked in that closet, and it's on the outside. Is one of those locks where you like have to lift it up, slide it over, or drop it down. So they can't figure out how people are getting locked in the closet. It's very negative. Even the people who were there that own the place, they said if they came up there and the doors were open, they would not enter upstairs whatsoever. They refused to And so of course we had to go stand in the closet and Teresa was sitting in a chair. We were running a spearit box, but at that time I heard in my head a very loud a man, very loudly said get out of this closet, and it was in my head, but I kind of thought, well, I do have a fear of being locked in closet, so maybe it's just my anxiety of being in this closet. So I decided to step off, but I didn't say anything. And then shortly after that, the spirit box said shut this door, and of course we didn't do that either. And the next thing, you know, Teresa and a chair come launching four feet out of the closet, and she said something physically picked up the chair and threw her. Well, you know, I tried to deep bunk it, like, hey, did you just fall over? She's like, if I just fell over, I would be in the closet. I wouldn't be out here in the hallway with the chair. So but she she was pretty shookn up because she said she actually felt the weight of the hands pick up the chair and forcibly throw her out of the closet. So that that, for me, was one of the first times that I realized that many can they can mess you up if they want to, then I too. You just had that incredible cobweb feeling all over like I was. Everybody was constantly wiping their face like you thought you had walked into some cobwebs. One of the guys stepped outside. He wouldn't come back in. He said he couldn't take the energy. It kept hitting them in the back of the head all night long. He's like, I can't, can't be in here. And we actually saw wet footprints come up from the basement that let outside and nobody had been down there. It was like bare feet footprints. So it was just a crazy, crazy, insane night try to catch a little bit of sleep. One of the girls stayed up and she was watching but she would see shadow figures darting around at night. She didn't like it. So, yeah, it was just crazy, and we said we'd never go back, and of course, three years later we decided to go back. Teresa she wouldn't go back. She she oh, she had also gotten scratched too before during the walkthrough. She couldn't handle going back, so she did not. We did not get the same level energy that we did that particular night. I mean, we had some stuff, but it was nothing like that first night. And yeah, with that, that first time we went was just absolutely terrifying. I've always wanted to go to some place that is, like you said that some Mitchell, Indiana. Yes, I'm not sure that. I'm not to look it up real quick. I'm in Indiana, so I'm doing local investigations for my area. Not so much paranormal, but like there's a lot of weird things going on around here. Apparently Mitchell is south of Bloomington, so that's actually about one hundred and fifty miles away from me because I'm more in the north central area. But I know, you ever get a chance to go, or anybody listening, man, just go there. It's crazy. I know there's a place by I think Winchester, which is over on the east side of State. I've talked to someone. Yeah, I think that's I think that's the Randolph Colony Infirmary. Yep, that's it. Yep, that's what I was talking about. Where we you know, got those EVPs of the fire and the woman talking. We actually captured a shadow figure as well while we were there. Teresa actually saw in the basement while we were setting up, she sat peeking around the corner. We first we didn't have nothing running at the time, but then later, you know, like this place is huge, like I don't know how many square feet, but just imagine being at like a big, huge general hospital. It was like that big, and it's just two girls walking around in the dark. And we were like up on the second floor and I kind of we get to a point, you know, where you go left, you go right, and I'm kind of scanning the camera back and forth, like I don't know which hallway do you want to go down? And when I did that, at one point you could see something like peak its head through the doorway, scooch to the other side, and just peak its head back out again. And when I saw that, I didn't see it when I filmed it because I was moving it pretty fast. But when I saw that on film, I was like, oh my god, something following us around, plushing get the EVPs. You know, they're talking to you while you're walking around. So even if you think nothing's going on, and that could be with you too, there's probably stuff going on, but you don't have anything to to, like maybe a voice recorder or something that even if there is doesn't mean you're going to catch a voice. But you know, there a lot of times there's stuff going on. You don't even know what's happening. Right, Yeah, I don't. I had to do someone to give me an eight minute online, like they recorded something, so I uploaded it into my computer try to clean it up for their loan for EVPs, and I actually picked up several different things for them, which I gave it back and I don't know what they're doing with it now. But it's always weird for me to hear that stuff because I'm thinking. I was like, well, there has to be some sort of background interference, and then there's no interference because someone sent me something before that I cleaned up and it was a little girl's voice, and there's no way a little girl should have been where they claimed this was recorded at. That's the type of stuff that really creeps me out because like it's clear as day. You can hear a voice, but I can't make out what it's saying, but you can. Hear it, so yeah, yeah. It's weird that you can hear them on recordings but you don't hear it with your ears. I don't understand how that works. I mean, like the science behind it doesn't add up. Like it's picking up noises that we don't hear, but only it gets recorded in the digital formats. It's strange. Well, you know they say they speak in different frequencies than we can normally hear. But also you think those voice recorders they pick up different frequencies that we probably can't hear, but then when you play it back, it's like amplified, so then you can hear it, right, Because you know, even even you know, with our voice recorders, I can pick up people outside and I can tell the difference between whether it's a EVP or it's too far away that it is somebody outside, and I can still kind of make out what they say. If you have the right program, you know, you can you can kind of edit it unless change the voices and things like that. But yeah, I just I just love a good EVP because there's just like there's no explanation for it, you know, especially you know we went to I'd say the best EVPs we ever captured was at feliska ex murder house. And for those who aren't familiar with Bliska, you know, they had eight people murdered in the house, never found the killer, and six of them being children. We had so many Class A EVPs from those kids it was incredible, and I have never had Class A EVPs that I never had to alter change anything ever in my life. And I actually had two of them talking to each other because one said, do you want to play? And then the other one answered and said no way. So it's like crazy that we were getting stuff and the one little boy said, I want to touch your things because we had a lot of toys out and such. And one of the spirits who passed away, her name is Lena. She likes to mess with the guests a little bit because she thinks it's fun. You know. I guess if I was a young child who died, I'd be like messing with people too. But she I actually got an EVP that said from the older boy. I can't remember his name, but he was the oldest one you could tell just by his voice. And he said, I don't know what she's gonna do, but she he goes, no, Lena, No, So I don't know what she was going to do. But just to get even that, knowing that that was a spirit that passed away there, it was just crazy, so that that place was really really cool. I love that place. Where did you say that was? That's the Valiska Axe Murder, howiseon, that's in Velliska, Iowa. Okay, but you actually travel all over the country kind of just too investigation. Yeah, we've been here there, We've gone as far as Ohio and the other direction. I think the farthest we've gone is like Kansas. So yeah, when we first started out on it, like seven hour journeys, I'm like, don't ever let me go farther. The next thing, you know, I'm like, well, you know, hi, I was only eleven and a half. Just a couple more hours. So yeah, So you know, now that we're getting older, we don't travel as much. You know, our team is busier, life changes and stuff. So we try to get together as but as you know, as we can. This year, we only have one trip planned, so that's just kind of what we're going to just do one a year here at this point. So and I'm pretty busy, you know, trying to run the lodge and the boyd House and in different you know, different events going and just all kinds of stuff happening. I feel like when everyone gets involved with these things. Eventually, as you said, we get older. I'm about to turn forty one, and I'm now actually going to go out and start doing in the investigation, not so much like paranormal in the sense, but like more locally type stuff. And we went out last weekend, my friend and I because we're going to try and do this documentary and just going to these locations or whatever. I'm like, man, I'm already feeling too old for this. I don't know, just these areas and the places I want to go. Like personally, I would like to do it at night time, but walking through the woods and pitch blackness, I don't think it's going to be very smart and doing. And at this age, I guess I don't know. I feel like I want to trap over a rock or break my neck and be out in the middle of nowhere and just me and him. So it doesn't sound very safe, but I guess we're going to be dumb about it. Who knows. Yeah, well, that is the problem that you get all you're like, Cam, I break a hip or something, you know. For me, it's like, oh, can I make it past midnight? That's my. Yeah, we were I'll actually talk to you out off air. The place we can't discuss on air, but that might be something you'd be interested in to investigate. It is open for investigations, but again it has to be remained anonymous for the time being. Oh for sure. But it has got a very interesting history and I always leave it at that. So they're going to be running an event from six pm to midnight and then the Lodge will be doing investigation with Eternal Paranormal from six pm to midnight, so you could just get some information on our website for that or our tickets for the lodge will be on sale in January, but otherwise through event right, you'll be able to find the Boyd House tickets are already on sale, limited to ten spots, the lodge only to twenty spots, so I think the lodge is going to sell out quick when we release those tickets at the first of the year. Here, by the time this hears, it'll probably be after the first of the year, just just letting you know. So, yeah, that'll work out perfect because it's May twenty twenty five, so. How far away are they from each other. I think they're about seven hours, okay. Yeah, I wasn't sure the exact locations, So. Yeah, Boyd does southwest Minnesota, so it's one hundred and forty five miles southwest of the Twin Cities, and then the Lodge itself is more like on the southern part of Illinois. We're about three hours from Saint Louis. There's a small town of Muscatine, Iowa, so we're just right over the border, and about an hour and a half from the Quad Cities in Iowa. So centrally located. A lot of places in Indiana really are only three and a half to four hours away, So it just kind of depends on where you are at that point in Indiana.
